Tapered Insulation Systems

The goal of tapered roof insulation systems is to reduce or eliminate the amount of ponding/standing water on the membrane when the roof deck does not provide adequate slope. Draining the water in a timely manner minimizes the effects that standing water can have on completed roof membranes. A properly designed tapered roof insulation system not only provides the positive drainage needed but also helps extend the life of the roof membrane. As more designers and roofing professionals understand the importance of positive drainage for both new construction and re-roofing, the popularity of tapered insulation has increased dramatically.

Tapered Polyiso
Tapered polyiso products provide roofs with durability and flexability, as well as superior insulations values, and are compatible with virtually every roof membrane

Tapered EPS
Expanded polystyrene insulation provides the required positive slope to drain while retaining the structural and economic advantages of a flat roof deck. It maintains long-term insulation performance, stability and moisture-resistance. EPS effectively controls the transfer of heat within all roofing systems.

Tapered Perlite
A natural volcanic glass, Perlite is designed for use directly over steel decks and under built up roofing. Perlite is available in both flat and tapered.
